Bonei Olam’s wholly owned subsidiary, the Nova Health Clinic
As a satellite to fertility clinics in central London, the Nova Clinic improves the accessibility of medical tests integral to fertility treatment to our target beneficiaries. By bringing the clinic in closer proximity to our users and making appointments more readily available, Bonei Olam is further promoting the ultimate outcome of achieving fertility for more couples.
The Nova Clinic has alleviated many difficulties in the process including:
· Significantly reducing travel time /expenses
· Minimising missed work hours
· Enabling critical tests to be taken close to Shabbos or Yom Tov
· Allowing time sensitive fertility testing to achieve more accurate results by easily accessed local dedicated testing facility. (This is especially important for patients with
genetic diseases and close monitoring is imperative as their chances are reduced with (PGD.)
· Ability to more easily schedule tests with long lead-in times and emergency appointments.
For scans, which many women require on a daily basis during treatments, benefits include:
· Options for scans at flexible times, morning or any hour of the day
· Appointments available on short notice or relative to ovulation
· Minimal disruption to daily routine.
Privacy
As confidentiality remains high on our couples’ list of priorities, the Nova Clinic is run with discretion and a robust policy enforcing privacy rights.
Our premises are located within a local private medical clinic, where there are other services being offered such as medical general practice, women’s health clinics, physiotherapy and many more services. These facilities are open for public use for patients with various conditions, as well as fertility use. This has reduced the potential embarrassment of attendees, who do not want to be seen specifically attending a fertility clinic.
Process Streamlining
The initial induction of a couple into the world of fertility treatment involves a careful monitoring of the female’s natural cycle, plus a physical and scan examination, as well as a
physical and scan examination of the male partner.
Technically, this should be doable in one month, but in our experience, the reality is that this typically takes an average of half a year, due to difficulty with arranging appointments, working around clients’ schedules and other obligations, and limitations on testing facilities.
One of our evaluation markers of success in the Nova Clinic is the notable progress of our goal to have every new couple’s fertility assessments completed within one month, on a regular basis (down from the average of 6 months before Nova’s inception). To date, our average process now takes on average 6 weeks, lowering the average time by approx 20%.
Equipment
Equipment requirements were researched intensively to ascertain the most up-to-date and it-for-purpose high resolution scanner, since fertility scans require far more pinpoint data than general ultrasound images. Our clinic now offers the HyCoSy scan, used to locate Fallopian tube patency.
